When was the last time you took your car in for a tune up? Have you been to the doctor for your yearly physical? If your in school are you getting ready for the end of the semester? These are all things that you do regardless of whether or not you have a problem, they are just regular check in’s that you do so that you can see how you are doing, and to maintain things and catch them early to prevent bigger problems.
Do you need a tune up with God? Are you checking in with Him daily, thanking Him for the good stuff and asking for help with the bad? One thing I try to remind my daughter of, everyday to make sure she is living her Christian life. All the time not just on sundays.
We need to make sure that we are involving God in all parts of our lives, instead of compartmentalizing it instead.
For instance -
- At work we live our professional lives.
- At home we live our family lives.
- With friends we live our social lives.
- At church we live our Christian lives.
No matter where we are, and what we are doing, we should be living our Christian lives all the time.
Ezekiel 20:19 NKJV-
“I am the LORD your God: Walk in My statutes, keep My judgments, and do them;”
1Kings 8:61 NKJV-
“Let your heart therefore be loyal to the LORD our God, to walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, as at this day.””
Deuteronomy 30:16 NKJV-
“in that I command you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, His statutes, and His judgments, that you may live and multiply; and the LORD your God will bless you in the land which you go to possess.”
With all these examples in the Bible it just seems wrong not to follow them so I ask you again, Have you touched down with God lately?
